Setting A Dessert Table For A Kid’s Birthday Party

From choosing the right lollies to choosing the perfect cake, it is very difficult to decide everything when you are throwing a birthday party for your child. This is because on one hand you want everything to be spectacular while on the other, you have to take care of your child’s flavour preferences as well. When you are throwing a birthday party for a kid, one of the most difficult decisions is to arrange the dessert table for them. If you have never arranged a dessert table before and don’t know where to start from, here are a few tips to help you out:

lollies

  1. First of all, the most important thing is the setting of the table. Think about the background and visualize how you want it to look. If you are decorating the table with a lot of things then it is better to keep the background simple. On the other hand, if you are using hangings on the background, then it is better to leave the table simple. Otherwise, the entire décor will look messy and tacky. Also, when you are setting the table, don’t place everything at the same height. Create platforms of different heights where you can set up the lollies and other desserts.
  2. Also, pay special attention when you are choosing the containers for placement. Every other container should be different from the first one so the table will not look boring and simple. You can choose different platters, trays, glass shots and jars for different types of treats. You can make small cakes and mousses in the glass shots while you can prepare a jar of candies and lollies. The containers that you are using for the lollies should be transparent so the different coloured lollies can look good in them.
  3. When you are organizing a kid’s party, there are various themes that you can choose from. However, you should keep in mind that kids like a lot of vibrant colours so choose a colour that are either your child’s favourite or is the one that suits his personality. When you are arranging a kid’s birthday, don’t just choose one colour for the décor. Instead, choose two or three colours so the décor can look colourful and vibrant.
  4. It is always a good idea to label your desserts so people won’t have to guess. It is also important because it happens that many times people have allergies and they taste the desserts with the wrong ingredients. Therefore, to be on the safe side, it is important that you label each dessert with a name that describes what it will have.
  5. Another crucial decision that you will have to make is the selection of the desserts. If it is a birthday, then it will obviously have a birthday cake. Other than the cake, you can choose cupcakes, brownies, macaroons and jelly beans.
